I have always perceived artwork as a metaphorical bridge connecting my visual dialect with viewer interpretation. The world is rapidly becoming digitized and technological advancements happen at an exponential rate sometimes superseding the honest labor of two hands.
To articulate a complex idea or tell an engaging story I must first recognize our ability as individuals to freely transfer information amongst ourselves. As intelligence piles upon intelligence and ability piles upon ability, it becomes evident that people, including myself, construct new understandings of the world through active exploration, experimentation, discussion, and reflection. In short, ideas do not materialize from an empty milieu, ideas are manufactured. What this means for the so-called complex idea or engaging story is that there is a permanence of recycled information being subtly presented in different shapes and forms.
This series is an attempt to negotiate a gap existing between the digital and analog art-world. We twist and turn in an ever changing web of social continuance whereby we each influence one another. Therefore humanism has become my primary source of inspiration. The paintings that develop are mosaics of decisive strokes of color relying on composition and implied imagery. Through my work, I strive to expose our evident humanity.
